LARAMIE CO, Wyo. (KGWN/Release) Albany County Sheriff’s Corporal Derek Colling shot Robbie Ramirez three times; once in the arm, and twice in the back. That’s the findings of Albany County Coroner Jennifer Graham.

Ramirez was unarmed and had a documented history of mental illness. He was the third person Corporal Colling shot and killed while working as a law enforcement officer.

Albany County for Proper Policing (ACoPP) released the findings of the autopsy on its website after obtaining the report from Ramirez’s family.
The report details each of the three gunshots.

The shot to Ramirez’s upper arm went into his armpit and lodged in his chest. Of the two shots to his back, one bullet hit Ramirez’s aorta; the other his liver.

ACoPP, with the help of a former Albany County Coroner, say once paired with video footage from the dash and body cameras, it appears that Colling shot Ramirez first in the arm, and then twice in the back as he lay on the ground.

The autopsy report shows Ramirez was not under the influence of any drugs or alcohol.

The full autopsy report and the video can be found on ACoPP’s website:
