AARP Wyoming Community Action Teams are providing activities for those over fifty

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -- Community Action Teams in Casper and Sheridan have already put together activities. In June, there was a golf tournament for veterans.

These Community Action Teams organize different activities for those over the age of fifty in their community. Tanya Johnson, with AARP Wyoming, said new Community Action Teams usually ask for input from the community on what it should do.

Tanya Johnson said, "We're noticing younger people wanting to volunteer with AARP because we all have parents that are aging, grandparents perhaps, and so our awareness and desire to know more is increasing."

Johnson said AARP Wyoming is hoping to see more Community Action Teams formed throughout the state. For more information, go to states.aarp.org/wyoming/.
