CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- The I.D. Underground Beta Salon and Tattoo started 'Stock the Pantry', which is a food drive to support LCCC students. According to https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2019/04/30/new-research-finds-discrepancies-estimates-food-insecurity-among-college-students, roughly 48 percent of community college students suffer from food insecurity and hunger.

"A lot of people in the community are unaware as well that college students suffer from hunger at times,” creator of ‘Stock the Pantry’ Jennifer Dawkins said. “We just wanted to bring awareness and we wanted to do our part to help donate anything that we can."

LCCC’s food pantry allows students to pick up six food items, and two hygiene items, twice a week. Some students say they’re thankful for the support from businesses in the community.

"It wouldn't make this possible, because this is run on donations so when the businesses donate that definitely helps fuel our food pantry so that way," freshman Lyrick O’Bryan said.

"It touches my heart that more people are trying to get more food here," freshman Mary Baylie said.

The drive ends on December 10th. You can bring your donations to I.D. Underground Beta Salon and Tattoo from 11:00am-6:00pm.
