CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) While some people were busy Black Friday shopping on Nov. 29, a group of football fans got together for the 23rd Turkey Bowl played this year at McCormick Junior High School. It started over two decades ago when Cheyenne native Mike Morris joined his father in playing football with friends the day after Thanksgiving. Ever since that first game more than 20 years ago, Morris has made it a priority to gather friends, old and new, to play flag football. On Nov. 29, 2019 the group got together with temperatures in the 20’s, fog hanging around, and snow covering a majority of the field to kick off the holiday season while Austin Fermelia was named the 2019 Turkey Bowl MVP.
