Casper starts plowing residential streets

The city of Casper said on Facebook they are going to start plowing snowy side streets

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) The City of Casper said in a Facebook post today that they are starting to plow side streets. Residents can call (307) 235-8283 to request their street to be plowed.

Lisa Walton, a Casper resident said her neighborhood would be safer if it was plowed. “We've seen more wrecks on the side streets. My husband goes to work at 7:30 in the morning and he's seen wrecks on the side streets,” Walton said.

The city said in this post they usually don’t plow side streets unless they are impassable.

Walton said she has lived in Casper for 6 years and hasn’t seen her street plowed. She added that she has seen postal service trucks and a handful of neighbors stuck in the snow. Also, the wind and snowdrifts aren’t helping.

"We will definitely be calling. I don't know if it will help. I've lived here six years and I’ve never seen our side street plowed,” Walton said.
