Rachel Saurer started at KGWN August of 2021 as a Multimedia Journalist and Weekend Weather Anchor. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, but discovered her love of smaller towns after a move to Fort Collins, Colorado where she attended Colorado State University, attaining a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communications. She moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming at the start of 2020, dabbling in political reporting by covering Wyoming legislature and also gaining experience and acquiring sources covering happenings at the F.E. Warren Air Force Base and the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
While Rachel's interest in news came completely by surprise, her passion for weather was something that she always had -- even at a young age, she always demanded to watch the weather channel or check out weather books on her family's weekly trip to the library -- so she is excited to pursue weather further during the Saturday and Sunday 5:30pm and 10pm shows.
Aside from reporting, Rachel enjoys hiking, running, writing fiction and photography.
