She joined the news team back in 2017 and took a brief hiatus in 2019 to be a full-time mom. Returning in the Spring of 2020.
Born and raised in Loveland, Co, Kayla spent many winters in Wyoming racing dirt bikes with her family. Her dad is originally from Wyoming. Kayla went to Colorado Media School in Lakewood and graduated in 2017..
Kayla's passion for journalism called her back to KGWN/KCWY during the start of COVID-19 to bring truth and trust to viewers statewide. If you follow her on Facebook or twitter you know she has a 1.5 year old son and three dogs.
Kayla's favorite story she has told was the funeral of George Hanson a Navy machinist mate who died at Pearl Harbor, his remains were identified and brought home to be buried in front of family. The turnout from the community to welcome the soldier home is something she will never forget. It was the first story that brought tears to her eyes while she was on the scene.
