Austin anchors the morning weather. He's from Collinsville, Illinois, near St. Louis and he studied meteorology at Saint Louis University. He enjoys sports, video games, astronomy, and watching severe weather.
Austin was interested in weather as a kid when he was scared of storms and would forecast them along with the news broadcast. He only was more interested in weather when he and his mother came out of a store only to see a tornado moving across the parking lot of a different store. A weather memory that always stands out to him is his grandfather teaching him about what a bow echo was as they were taking cover from one.
Austin also traveled to Madrid, Spain his freshman year of college as part of an engineering program. He traveled to several places such as Airbus Headquarters in Toulouse, France, and the Trillo nuclear power plant with a group of six others and even took a few solo trips, all while not knowing Spanish.
When Austin isn't looking at the weather, you can find him on the baseball field practicing or playing some video games with his friends from college and high school. If you would like to reach him, feel free to email him at austin.feig@kgwn.tv or follow his Facebook.
