Weather Roller Coaster on the Horizon
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - We are in for a roller coaster wide in our weather for the next couple of days. Precipitation is moving toward portions of southeast Wyoming and will especially impact our mountain areas. Snow accumulations may approach a couple of inches tonight in the highest elevations of southeast Wyoming. We could also see some accumulating snow in parts of western Wyoming.

Low temperatures tonight across the area will drop into the the 20s and 30s for most locations across the region. Our “warmer locations” will be into Cody and Fort Collins, with temperatures into the upper 30s.

As we head into Sunday, we will be seeing clouds decrease with time across the area, with sunshine by the afternoon hours. High temperatures into Sunday will range into the 30s in the highest elevations, to the 50s and 60s into the Plains.

Although we are still many days away, our eyes are on the holiday weekend as a weather disturbance is expected to develop and bring the potential for some accumulating snow late Thursday and into Friday. As of now, it is too early to go into specifics but we will be monitoring this in the days to come.

In addition, we will be watching arctic air moving in as we head into next weekend. We could see high temperatures into the 20s and lows into the teens. This will be a result as we will see northwesterly flow, which will stream that arctic air down from Canada and into Wyoming through the Northern Plains.

Extended Forecast for Cheyenne - Clouds will clear on Sunday, allowing for plenty of sunshine. We do get a weak disturbance move in late Sunday and into Monday, with gusty winds into Monday. Sunshine returns for mid-week, before our attention turns to the Thanksgiving holiday, with snow possible in the forecast.
