CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Kick start the holiday season by cutting down your very own Christmas tree.

Christmas tree permits are now available for purchase in the Medicine Bow - Routt National Forests.

Many people make cutting down their own tree a fun tradition, with over 5 thousand permits sold last year.

You can pick your choice of a little Charlie Brown tree, all the way up to a 20 foot tall giant!

“We’re kind of lucky the snow pack hasn’t gotten too intense, so it’ll be a lot easier than the years where we’ve been hauling through feet of snow to get you a Christmas tree. People come back year after year which is great, its a really special thing,”
