Casper Rotary Club aids kids caught in Ukraine conflict
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Rotary Club of Casper held a special event for a special cause earlier this week. It was called Solar Hope for Ukraine.
Ashley Vondra, who works with the Rotary Club, provides some details. “Brad Cundy actually, with Keyhole Outdoor Living... He donated the solar panels that he would (normally) get rid of. We decided to take those and convert those to USB phone chargers. To send over to schools, hospitals, and frontline people in Ukraine.”
Though young and older alike came to decorate the solar panels with art, the evening was definitely geared towards kids and teens. One Natrona County High School student explained how it feels to do something positive for those in desperate situations.
Beau Griffith says, “Being able to help people who really need it in Ukraine... It’s just like, overwhelming joy!”
