Breezy Conditions Make a Return

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It will be another end of the week, with breezy conditions for parts of our area. High Wind Warnings are in effect for parts of Northern Carbon, Albany, and western Platte and Laramie Counties until 9 AM Friday. A High Wind Watch continues for locations east of I-25 in Platte and Laramie Counties.

Winds will increase later this evening and into the overnight hours. Winds could gust up to 50-60 mph at times during the overnight and into Friday morning. Those who have to travel along I-25 or I-80 in southeast Wyoming are urged to use extreme caution, and heed rollover risk warnings from WYDOT.

Snow is becoming likely as we head up into the Tetons and Gros Mountain ranges of Western Wyoming. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 12 PM Friday for the Tetons and Gros mountain ranges.

Snow accumulation will increase with elevation in the mountains. Snow accumulations are forecast to 4 to 8 inches between 8,500 and 10,000 feet. 8-12 inches will be possible above 10,000 feet of the Tetons. Lower totals are expected in the Gros Ventre Mountains. Some gusty winds in the higher elevations could result in blowing and drifting snow.

Low temperatures tonight will be into the 30s and 40s for much of the state. The higher in elevation you go, the cooler the temperatures are forecasted to be. Have that jacket handy just to be safe!

As we head into Friday, we will see some increasing clouds. A few showers will be possible, especially north of Casper during the evening hours. Temperatures will range from the 30s to the 60s across the region.

Extended Forecast for Cheyenne - We will see a bit more cloud cover as we head into Friday. Sunshine returns for the weekend, with a warming trend during the weekend. Temperatures will be warmest on Sunday. Clouds will increase through the work week, with a gradual cooling trend.
