Riverton community members work to establish the city’s first emergency shelter
Currently there are no emergency shelters in Fremont County. The Riverton Rescue team is working to change that.

RIVERTON, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Last winter 52-year-old Richard Lonebear died on the streets of Riverton from hypothermia. His death sparked conversation about the lack of resources available in the community for folks experiencing homelessness. A group of Fremont county locals responded by forming Riverton Rescue. Their goal? To provide emergency housing for community members in need.
