Sunny and Mild Conditions Continue through the Week
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - As we start the work week, we are in for a very pleasant, but mild week in our weather. As we head into the rest of the afternoon, we will see plenty of sunshine in the forecast. Temperatures into the afternoon will range from the 60s to the 70s across the area. Expect temperatures in the higher elevations into the 50s.

As we head into tonight, we will be in for another chilly night across the state. Temperatures will fall into the 30s and 40s across the state. The majority of cooler temperatures will be into the higher elevations.

As a cold front moves through the area, winds will begin to increase across the wind prone areas of southeast Wyoming. A High Wind Watch is in effect in the wind prone areas of Laramie, Albany, Carbon, and Platte Counties. Winds will increase later Tuesday afternoon and into Tuesday evening. Winds will be out of the west at 30 to 40 mph with gusts as high as 65 mph.

The strongest winds will likely be during the mid to late afternoon and through the evening hours on Tuesday. We could see some gusty winds up into the higher elevations of western Wyoming as well, despite that we do not have any wind headlines at this time for that region of the state.

Extended Forecast for Cheyenne - It will be a beautiful afternoon over the Capitol city. We could see a bit more clouds heading into Tuesday as a cold front moves through. Gusty winds are likely Tuesday and into early Wednesday. Sunshine continues as we close out the week and head into the weekend. We get a brief break from the 70 degree weather on Wednesday, before temperatures rebound back into the 70s.

Extended Forecast for Casper - It will be a beautiful afternoon over Casper today. We could see a bit more clouds heading into Tuesday as a cold front moves through. A stray shower is possible but it does look like it will stay to our north on Tuesday. Gusty winds are likely Tuesday and possibly early Wednesday. Sunshine continues as we close out the week and head into the weekend. We get a brief break from the 70 degree weather on Wednesday, before temperatures rebound back into the 70s.
