Casper Tata Trot celebrates the kick-off of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Hundreds of Casper residents show solidarity and support through participating in the annual Tata Trot
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Wyoming Foundation for Cancer Care held its 14th annual Tata Trot 5k Fun Run on September, 30 in Casper.
Tish Chase is the executive director of the Wyoming Foundation for Cancer Care. She says, “We are absolutely thrilled at the number of registrants we have this year. It’s going to be the biggest one ever.”
The Tata Trot celebrates the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Wyoming Foundation for Cancer Care has been organizing this event for over a decade. Their mission is to provide financial support to cancer patients and their families.
Many of the Trot participants are survivors or folks who have been touched by breast cancer in some way or another. All of the proceeds from the Tata Trot will directly benefit cancer patients through the Wyoming Foundation for Cancer Care.
Chase says, “It’s almost a given that somebody who is running today will be one of our future recipients, or there are people running today who have been recipients in the past. The survivors that are going to be here are amazing to see.”
