Mayor denies allegations of domestic violence
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - On Monday, the wife of the mayor of Casper, Bruce Knell, filed for divorce and a restraining order. Stacy Casper... As she’s now preferring to be called... Has made domestic violence allegations against Mr. Knell.
This all stems from a trip to Austin, Texas that they took together. Ms. Casper alleges she was the victim of domestic violence while on that trip. Now, just a short time ago, we received a statement from Mr. Knell’s attorney on behalf of the mayor.
It reads in-part, “Mr. Knell cooperated with law enforcement to include the examination of his room and his hands. Mr. Knell was not arrested after the investigation and was not served with a citation. There are a number of witnesses who were available at the time of the incident and immediately thereafter. Mr. Knell denies the allegations made in Ms. Casper’s petition.”
Now, we have reached out to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, but have not heard back from them as of yet. This is obviously a fluid situation with a lot of moving parts. But we will stay on top of it, and bring you the latest as details become available.
