Six Suspects Arrested During Warrant Service Operation
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -Six suspects have been arrested during an operation designed to combat felony property crime and other serious offenses.
On Wednesday, September 13, the Cheyenne Police Department was involved in a multi-warrant service operation at five locations across the city. The investigation focused on high priority offenders with histories of property crime violations. Felony warrants were served at the following locations:
• 1800 block of Rainbow Road
• 1900 block of East 18th Street
• 3900 block of Baldwin Drive
• 2700 block of O’Neil Avenue
• 4700 block of Long Branch Loop
The following individuals were arrested and booked into the Laramie County Jail. Booking photos are attached.
Austin Bennett, 31, of Cheyenne – Theft greater than $1,000.00, unlawful entry into an occupied structure, domestic battery, and property destruction.
Bryant Montoya, 32, of Cheyenne – Destruction of property greater than $1000.00, duty to stop upon colliding with an unattended vehicle or property, possession of a powdery substance.
Nathan Messick, 31, of Cheyenne – Destruction of property greater than $1,000.00, burglary.
Joshua Osban, 43, of Cheyenne – Failure to comply on original charges of strangulation of a household member and violating a protection order.
Brad Slizeski, 62, of Cheyenne – Felony possession of methamphetamine.
While property crime has decreased overall from 2022, CPD officers recently noticed an uptick and determined that the warrant service operation might help control this trend. “Generally, a relatively small number of repeat offenders are responsible for the majority of our crime,” said Chief Mark Francisco. “We are hopeful that focusing on priority offenders and getting them off our streets will help reduce the frequency of these incidents.”
Special thank you to the Cheyenne Police/Laramie County joint SWAT team for assisting during the operation.
