CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The 8th annual Connect2Women conference took place this weekend in Cheyenne, to inspire, engage, and impact women.
Governor Gordon gave a keynote on Friday morning highlighting the importance of women in Wyoming.
“The fact that women solve problems, and they do it incredibly well. They are an incredibly important part of what our history has been, and quite frankly Wyoming would not be Wyoming if it were not for the women who were there, who made those tough choices, who took on those tough circumstances, and did it gracefully with humor, and made this the place it is,” said Governor Gordon during his keynote.
Connect2Women is a nonprofit that focuses on inspiring, engaging, connecting, and impacting women across Wyoming.
The conference lasts two days and focuses on both professional and personal development.
There are several keynote speeches and breakout sessions highlighting different topics unique to women.
“You know as women in Wyoming, kind of like the governor said, we all have to be ready to roll our sleeves up and get down to business and do things that maybe aren’t really in our job description all the time. as family members, members of the community, leaders of organizations, we all have these different hats we have to wear. So Connect2Women really tries to touch on all of those hats that we have to wear as women in Wyoming,” said Kate Hayes, Founder and Executive Director of Connect2Women.
