CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The donor alliance is excited to partner with the state of Wyoming, as Governor Gordon will proclaim wyoming a donate life state.

“We walk along side the family during that organ recovery process, and ensure that their loved ones gifts are safely received at transplant centers in a timely manner. and with that mission, donor alliance also educates people about life saving benefits of organ and tissue donation,” said Heather Burke, PR and Communications Manager for Donor Alliance.

Declaring Wyoming a donate life state is a bold, yet crucial step towards advancing the cause of donation for transplantation, as there are nearly 150 Wyomingites currently awaiting a lifesaving organ transplant.

The program aims to promote organ, eye, and tissue donation to residents through education and donor registration opportunities.

“Transplants rely on the generosity of organ and tissue donors, and unfortunately there are not enough donors to meet the need. that’s why its important that donation is embraced as a human responsibility,” said Burke.

the proclamation will take place Tuesday, September 19th at 10:30am at the Wyoming state capitol.
