CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It’s hard to stay away from Cheyenne.

A black bear proved that when he couldn’t resist the temptation to visit a local park in Cheyenne.

A resident spotted the curious omnivore wandering around Clear Creek Park on Sunday and called Cheyenne Police for help, adding that the bear’s paw appeared injured.

CPD, along with Game & Fish and Cheyenne firefighters, met on the scene to attempt to capture the bear.

Despite the injured paw, the black bear made his capture all the more difficult when it climbed a tree.

Fortunately, experts were able to safely capture the bear and take it to a safe location.

The bear’s injuries were tended to by wildlife experts and it was deemed safe to relocate it.

The furry traveler has been successfully moved to a new home in the Snowy Range Mountains.
