CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Kelly Walsh Trojans picked up their first victory of the season on Friday, and Landon Walker was a force to be reckoned with in that game.

He was listed as a tight end last year, but this season he’s doing a little bit of everything. It’s apparent the Trojans are finding ways to get him plenty of touches, and walker is relishing his increased usage.

”I’m definitely grateful. I love when the ball’s in my hands. It’s all I wish for really, and I love when the line blocks and does their best [as well],” Walker said.

Walker’s versatility was on full display against South; he combined for over 100 yards from scrimmage, and was dangerous as both a rusher and receiver. On the ground he took six carries for 57 yards and two touchdowns, and through the air he caught four balls for 58 yards-- one of which went for a 43 yard score.

On the horizon for the Trojans now is the Oil Bowl against Natrona County. It’s a chance for Kelly Walsh to beat their rival for the first time in seven years, and Walker is welcoming the high stakes of the game with open arms.

”I definitely feel pressure, but that’s something you’re always going to feel. I just need to get used to that, and play my best under any conditions. Like my coach says, competitors compete no matter how they feel. You just have to work with what you got and do your best,” Walker said.

Congratulations to Landon Walker on his fantastic performance.
