CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board will present the Annual Dubois Award to Carol McDonald on September 16th.

McDonald is being recognized for her preservation of the Abraham Fox House. The Dubois Award is given out every year to a house in the community that displays significant historical preservation efforts.

“This house definitely qualifies, but we’ve been interested in doing some mid-century modern recognition, and so this one fit in really well,” said Don Herrold, a member of the Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board.

Herrold said one thing that stood out about this home was its mid-century modern architecture.

This home was originally built in 1956 for Abraham H. and Edith Fox, the proprietors of the Firebird Motor Motel, which still exists today.
