Fall Temperatures Have Arrived
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Taking a look at our severe risk for today, we could see some scattered storms today, mainly to the west and southwest of Cheyenne. Cheyenne likely won’t see storms and if we do, they won’t be very strong, just bringing some rain and occasional thunder.

The main story for today is the cool day with highs in the lower 70s and in the 60s for Cheyenne. Tonight will continue the trend of cool temperatures with lower 40s around most of the Cowboy state so if you are headed outside this evening, bring a jacket and stay warm this evening.

Later this week the rain will move back on into the area with Wednesday evening kicking off a few days of rain. Scattered showers and storms will pop on up around Cheyenne and to the west and move through the area through Wednesday evening.

For our extended forecasts, Cheyenne will have storms roll into the area mainly on Thursday and Friday with Wednesday bringing those scattered showers. Those storms later this week will bring in cooler temperatures and a high of only 57 on Friday. Fall is here to stay for a while as highs stay below or just above the 70 degree mark.
In Casper, things will be mostly the same. We’ll see a warmer week than Cheyenne but again the storms roll on in Thursday bringing the cool weather with them and we’ll stay in the 60s those two days. We’ll warm up quick afterwards though and stay in the 70s for the week ahead. Not quite the upper 80s and 90s we’ve had for a while but a good sign that fall has begun to settle in and as a bonus, some nice weather on the way to get outside and enjoy our September.
