Winds Decrease, Sunshine Returns
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Windy conditions will continue through the evening hours. A High Wind Warnings remains in effect until 3 AM tonight for parts of the Laramie Range and areas extending from Rawlins to Cheyenne and along I-25. Winds up to 60 mph will still remain possible. Isolated gusts could reach 65 mph.
Winds will decrease as we head into the overnight hours once a cold front passes our area. This cold front will also bring much cooler conditions to the area. This is even reflected in our overnight temperatures for tonight. Widespread 40s and 50s are in the forecast for tonight. Some areas in higher elevations and across western Wyoming may see temperatures fall into the 30s. You may need that jacket tonight if you are going to head out during the overnight and into the early morning hours.
We are also going to see a difference in our temperatures as we head into Tuesday. Temperatures will be unseasonably cool for this time of year, with many locations only seeing high temperatures from the 60s to low 70s across the area. It seems like warmer temperatures will be from Riverton, to Worland, and Greybull, where we will see highs into the middle 70s.
The extended forecast for Cheyenne looks to give us a break from the stormy weather, with sunshine returning to the area for the rest of the week. Temperatures will return to near normal, before we see another dip in our temperatures. We will see a switch over in our weather pattern as shower and thunderstorm chances return for the end of the weekend and into the early part of next week.
Casper - We do see a stretch of dry weather return, with a slight chance of a shower or two for Tuesday. The dry weather hangs around until the end of the weekend and into early next week as a series of disturbances impacts the area. We will see temperatures return to near normal after Tuesday, before we see a dip in the temperatures once again.
