CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board and Arts Cheyenne will be hosting an open house on Saturday, September 9th at the Historic Airport Terminal.
The open house will include a special dedication for the completion of the Historic Airport Fountain Restoration Project at the newly designated Airport Fountain Park.
This event aims to teach attendees about the prominent role Cheyenne played in the development of commercial air travel in the U.S.
“I hope people feel a sense of pride in their community, pride that Cheyenne had such a key role in aviation history, proud of the work of the city, and the Historic Preservation Board to save the fountain,” said Milward Simpson, the Chair of the Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board.
The efforts made by the Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board to restore the fountain at the park have taken multiple years, and people involved said that they are so excited to share it with Cheyenne residents and visitors.
