CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Adult cats 7 months and older will have their adoption fees waived, and kittens are adopt one get one free.
Staff at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter said that they have seen an increase of cats surrendered to their shelter, and that it requires a lot of resources to take care of those cats.
“For some people it’s just a little too pricey to get an adult cat for how ever much shelters might be charging adoption fee wise, so waiving these fees, we’re getting them to some really nice homes of people who are going to give them that love and attention that they deserve and they need,” said Kayla Hahn, the Social Media and Marketing Coordinator for the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
Hahn said she hopes this adoption promotion will encourage anyone who has ever considered adopting a cat to adopt one now from their shelter.
According to Hahn they had over 340 adoptions during the month of July, and the hope is that this promotion keeps that momentum going.
