CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Planning to go camping for labor day weekend? Make sure to be prepared.

“Curt Gowdy and a lot of the other parks do have some first come first serve sites, but they’re going to fill up fast, so the best way to ensure that you have a campsite is to make the reservation.” said Wyoming State Parks Public Information Officer Gary Schoene.

Wyoming state parks are expected to be busy this weekend, so be sure to plan ahead by leaving early if you’re planning to camp at a first come first serve site. Safety is also important, so be sure to be mindful of the weather and you’re surroundings.

“Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, also there’s a chance of thunderstorms and as we’ve seen this summer they can be severe. So especially if you’re gonna be out on the water, keep an eye to the sky, and if its starting to darken up and get windy, probably a good time to head to shore.”

So if you’re camping this weekend, have a happy, and safe labor day.
