Hot Weather Returning
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - For our severe risk for today, no severe storms are expected but we could see some strong storms around the area mainly from Cheyenne east into the Nebraska panhandle. Storms will likely only bring heavy rain, lightning, and some wind gusts.

Unfortunately we don’t need any rain as our rainfall this month has totaled up to just under 3.5″. Our monthly average is only 1.34″ so we’ve got over 2″ more rain than usual this month with more possible today and on the 1st of September.

All this rain means cooler temperatures tonight as we’ll be in the 40s and 50s for the overnight hours tonight across Wyoming. For tomorrow’s highs though the heat returns with 90s in some areas and most of Wyoming in the 80s.

For our extended forecasts, Cheyenne will likely see some rain later this evening but after that the rain chance drops and the heat moves in. Friday will bring the storms back into the area as Friday marks the start of September. It also marks the start of Meteorological Fall.
For Casper, dry, sunny, and hot will be the trend for the week ahead as summer doesn’t want to let go just yet. Isolated showers are possible through the week but not everyone will see rain through the week. Cooler temperatures do move in next week though hopefully bringing the 90s to an end for a while.
