CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - At University of Wyoming Football Media Day I was able to catch up with former Central High School star, Andrew Johnson.

When I asked him about any advice to the guys who look up to him, this is what he had to say, “I always wanted to play D1 Football, but what does that really mean?” Johnson said. “You say that, but until I had the opportunity to get into there, get under a coach that sent multiple kids to college. Really he emphasized how big the weight room is and all of that stuff. You can’t start being a football player during fall and during fall camp and expect to be successful. It’s all the work you have to do in the offseason and for all those kids out there who want to do it. I say ‘go do it!’. You are the only one holding yourself back at that point. "

Johnson is slated as the #2 Strong Safety on the Cowboys depth chart, so, he will be making Cheyenne proud on the field with a decent workload ahead of him this season.
