Rain Chances Through The Weekend
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - We could see some showers and storms today around the area. Mostly in the Cheyenne area, Nebraska panhandle, and to the west. Storms today likely won’t be severe but could bring some wind gusts and occasional heavy rain.

For most of us around the state though, it will be a great day to get in the pool before any rain arrives. This afternoon will be hot in most of the state and into the 90s and upper 80s. Plenty of sun means it’s good swimming weather. Just be prepared for any showers or storms that may pop up later this afternoon.

For tonight’s lows we’ll be around the average but warmer in some areas with a lot of lower 60s but the occasional upper 60 around Wheatland and Scottsbluff. Some areas will be cooler, mostly around the central and southern sections of Wyoming near Rawlins. Tomorrow’s highs will be above average too as we’ll be in the upper 80s and 90s but it will be cooler than today for most of the area. It will still be hot so be prepared for the heat and stay hydrated.

For our extended forecasts, Cheyenne will see rain chances stick around with Sunday being our best chance of rain through the weekend and Thursday next week bringing storms for an extended period of time as the remnants of Hurricane Hilary will be moving through Wyoming and Idaho. Those remnants will bring unstable and wet weather to the area for a while but the impacts will likely be limited to heavy rain and some frequent lightning and thunder.
For Casper, our rain chances will move through later next week and we’ll stay hot until then. Once those rain chances move in things will cool down and we’ll be back into the 80s for a while as the summer heat moves out.
