Storm Chances Again Today, Cooler Weather Soon
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - We have another marginal risk of severe weather today from Yellowstone, through Casper and Riverton, into Cheyenne and Laramie and into the Nebraska panhandle. Storms will likely get started around 4:00-5:00 PM around Cheyenne and earlier in Casper and Riverton. Showers are already in the Sheridan and Gillette areas. These storms will bring some heavy rain at times, lightning and thunder, as well as some gusty winds. If you are headed out to an event tonight such as Cheyenne Frontier Days, bring an umbrella just in case.

Tonight’s lows are again going to be around our average lows overnight. upper 50s and a few 60s dotted around. The rain will cool the air pretty quickly once it moves through bringing that cool air in. Tomorrow’s highs will be slightly cooler than yesterday thanks to the rain today and some cloud cover but still a hot one around the state with upper 80s and some 90s.

For our extended forecasts, in Cheyenne we have daily chances of rain but our best storm chances are going to be today, then Monday next week and through the week ahead. The good news is that the rain will be bringing cooler air for us and our highs will be much more comfortable than the mid 90s we had at times.
In Casper, the 90s will return and we’re still going to be hot until late next week but we have daily rain chances as well. Most of our rain chances are less likely than Cheyenne but a few isolated showers will move on through the area bringing rain to some areas. Later next week though our rain chances improve and so do our temperatures as they begin to drop to more comfortable ranges.
