Summer Heat Sticks Around, Storm Chances As Well
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - We could see some scattered showers and storms today, much like yesterday where storms popped up quick and moved through quickly. These storms will likely bring some rain, a few rumbles of thunder, and near the Riverton area and to our East, some storms could bring some gusty winds and heavy rain.

After the rain moves out and we move into the evening, temperatures will cool slowly and we’ll see cooler temperatures in the overnight and early morning hours tomorrow. We’ll stay comfortably warm for most of the evening state wide before the late evening and overnight hours take things below 70 degrees.

Tomorrow is going to be another hot day state wide with upper 90s in many areas but cooler in others. Cheyenne and Laramie will be cooler than today while Gillette, Newcastle, and a few other places will again be in the upper 90s and near triple digits.

For our extended forecasts, Cheyenne and Casper have very different weeks coming up. In Cheyenne and around the area we’ll be warm but below 90 all week and we’ll have isolated showers and storms all week long. Some days the showers will go around us but we’ll likely see some rain and storms in the area Wednesday and Friday. Our weekend and next week look stormy as well so active weather has returned for us.
In Casper, we could see a few stray showers across the area but they’ll be spotty and not everywhere will see rain. Otherwise it’ll be a hot and dry week with a lot of sun and 90s all week long. Rain and storms will return to the area next week and with it, a break from the summer heat.
