Doodle for Google opens voting
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Voting for the Doodle for Google contest is now open.
The theme this year was gratitude. Ashli Smedley, a Central High School student, won the contest for Wyoming.
She’s now in the finals for the big prize and needs your votes.
“I’m really grateful for a lot of things, and I thought I could really express the beauty of life and so many things we’re given. So I was really inspired by that theme to be able to do this this year,” said Ashli.
Smedley was presented with the award this week, winning the regional contest at a surprise assembly at Central.
She now moves on to the national competition.
Her family is asking the community to help pull for her to represent the state, to show Google and the nation what Wyoming can do.
“Like Wyoming needs to get on the map. We have so many great students with so many abilities, but they are just kind of lost in the shuffle, and so let’s make sure that doesn’t happen this time. Let’s get out and show them how great Wyoming students are,” said Trisha Smedley, Ashli’s Mom.
The contest voting is open from now until the 25th.
The Smedleys want to ensure we help put Wyoming on the map.
To get Wyoming’s voices heard and showcase our students’ potential.
