CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Tuesday was the last day of competition for the high school softball regular season, and Laramie hosted Wheatland for a doubleheader.

The first game was the Emilee Sirdoreus show. Her six RBI’s bookended the scoring for the Lady Plainsmen; she got them on the board first with a two-run double in the opening frame, and put it out of reach with a fourth inning grand slam. Sandwiched in between Sirdoreus’ big at-bats, Wheatland’s Karley Adams hit a three-run homer to level the game at 3-3 in the top of the third, but in the bottom half of that frame Brooklyn McKinney answered with a two-run jack to regain the lead. Ultimately Laramie’s firepower led them to a 9-5 victory.

The second contest was a bit more lopsided. The Lady Plainsmen were up 4-0 going into the fourth, and broke it wide open with a seven run frame. Their power continued to be on display, as two different players than the first game went deep. Paysen Witte connected on a two-run shot, while Macy McKinney left the yard for a three-run dinger as a part of that big fourth inning. The mercy rule took effect after the fifth, and Laramie ended up winning 11-1.
