Pride is gearing up or upcoming summer events and a “Gay-La”

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It’s that time of year again; Pride is right around the corner.

Cheyenne Pride and Wyoming Equality hope to ring in this year’s events with a bit of flair and a fun new “Gay-la.”

“It’s about visibility and it’s about showing people that you know there is a community here.We support each other we support our families , we support our friends we are just trying to get the word out that there is support here I this lovely town here in cheyenne and it just brings the community here together,” said Stuart Campbell, Organizer- Pride Cheyenne.

Pride Cheyenne is a new organization hitting the city; its primary mission is to create a fun and sustainable annual pride fest for Cheyenne and the surrounding community.

They are organizing three main events.

The first is the Pride Cheyenne street fair on June 3rd at noon. The event will be on 15th Street between Thomes and O’Neil.

There will be vendors, local artists, community art projects, DJs, performers, and family events.

Local businesses are also getting into the fun, like the Chronicles Distillery, Freedom’s Edge, Rail Spur and Play More are participating.

Next, on the evening of the 3rd, Wyoming Equality will hold its first-ever Allies and Advocates costume ball and “Gay-la” starting at 7 pm at the Lincoln Theater.

Finally, Pride Cheyenne is having karaoke on June 9th and kicking off their pub crawl starting at the Blue Raven Brewery on June 9th and 10th.

“We’re over the moon excited about it . There are going to be aerialists, and the city said no fire breathers, so sorry, no fire breathers, but it’s going to be a really great time for a great cause. We hope that folks will join us on June 3rd as well as the pride committee here in Cheyenne.” said Sara Burlingham, Executive Director of Wyoming Equality.

Folks can bring their family, loved ones and their dog.
