East star Boden Liljedahl signs with Eastern Wyoming College Volleyball
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - One of the most decorated athletes in East history made her college choice official on Tuesday.
Boden Liljedahl will take her talents to Torrington and play volleyball for the Eastern Wyoming College Lancers. She said that she’s already itching to get out and compete again.
”[I’m] just trying to grow as an athlete, and learn to play at a higher collegiate level. Just get a bunch of reps in. I’m looking forward to the season, I’m missing it so much. So I’m really excited to get out there again on the court,” Liljedahl said.
She will leave an impressive legacy at East not only in volleyball, but in basketball as well. On the hardwood she won two state championships and earned three all-state selections for the Lady T-Birds hoops team; she also is the East record holder for free throws made and three pointers made in a career.
However, in the sport she will be continuing her accomplishments might be even more notable. Liljedahl was also a three time all state selection in volleyball, and three-peated as the 4A Defensive Player of the Year. On top of that she broke three school records in this sport as well; she owns the single season records for passing and digs as well as the career passing record.
When looking back on her time as a Lady T-Bird, Liljedahl said she feels a sense of fulfillment.
”It means a lot. It really shows how much work I put in I feel like, and it makes [me] feel really good. You know, I like to put on a show, and I like for others to be interested and invested in what they’re watching. So I think I really did that for the community and the public, and that makes me feel really good about myself and what I accomplished,” Liljedahl said.
Liljedahl plans on majoring in Pre-Med while at EWC with the hopes of becoming a surgeon.
