CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Wyoming Economic Development Association, or WEDA, celebrates economic developers in creating vibrant communities by recognizing economic development week from May 8th to 12th.
Communities across the state recognize this week by raising awareness of local programs that create jobs, advanced career development opportunities and improve our quality of life.
In recognition of this work, governor mark Gordon is set to sign a proclamation on May 4th in the governor’s ceremonial conference room at 3:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.
This week is to celebrate all that economic developers do to enrich our community and lives.
“What economic development week does and why its important is it recognizes the impact of the work that economic developers do for Wyoming communities, and so its a way for us to congratulate every city and town and all the work they are doing for Wyoming,” said Sara DiRienzo.
Wyoming’s economic development communities consist of local chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, Main Street projects, and state, city and town leadership.
