CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - As you may recall... Jersey Mike’s holds a National Day of Giving, for all of their locations, in the month of March. Wednesday they presented a huge check to a local charity.

In late March, the Casper and Laramie locations of Jersey Mike’s held their National Day of Giving, in which all proceeds get donated to a local charity. Now, around a month later, they presented a check for over $21,000 dollars to their charity of choice this year, the Jason’s Friends Foundation. Christine Robinson, Executive Director of the foundation, explains how the money will be used.

“The funds that we receive from Jersey Mike’s will go towards our families, enrolled in our program. That are currently fighting the hardest battle of their lives, with their child who has cancer.”

The family of a teenager who received help from Jason’s Friends was at the presentation on Wednesday. Annie Graham describes the experience... As only a mother can.

“You know... The thing with cancer... You never want to find out you have cancer. But you definitely don’t want to find out your kid has cancer. So, from the second that we found out it was officially cancer, Jason’s Friends stepped in and called us. And helped us with travel costs, hotel, food while we were gone down there... We were there for about a week. It took a huge pressure off our backs... To not have to worry about that.”

Chayse Graham and her family had to go to Denver to have the tumors removed. But after some post-op treatments, Chayse says she’s doing pretty well.

“Uh, good. I don’t even really notice it anymore. So, that’s good.”

In fact, Chayse... A senior at Natrona High... Already has a college in mind for the fall.

“I’m going to Hawaii. So... That’s cool.”
