East and Central once again tied their softball doubleheader
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Lady T-Birds and Lady Indians had just played on April 18, and split their two games on that day. They met again on Wednesday and battled through the elements to try and decide who runs the capital city.
The first leg was a bit of a slow starter; Central put up one run as the only score for the first two and a half frames. With two outs in the bottom of the third, the East bats finally woke up. They scored four in that inning and put up 10 more over the following two frames to take a 14-4 win. Jaylyn Christensen pitched a solid game for the Lady T-Birds, and also helped herself out at the plate; she had three hits-- two of which were doubles-- and two RBIs to help pace the team’s offense.
The following game took no time to bring fireworks. The Lady Indians opened up with an eight-run first inning, and that set the tone for the rest of the contest. Central cruised to a 13-2 victory to split a doubleheader between the two schools for the second week in a row. Maddie Birt and Porcha Kammerman led the way offensively; Birt had two hits and an RBI while Kammerman drove in two runs.
