CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - A Lady T-bird has signed her letter of intent to continue her soccer career, as well as start her track & field career back up.

Sophomore Grace Conner, will be continuing her athletic career at Kansas Wesleyan University after playing two years for Casper College.

One of the reasons that she chose this school was because it would allow her to not only play soccer, but also participate in their track & field team for high jump.

She said, ”There were a few, but this one was the one that... they wanted me for track and soccer, so that kind of showed me, I was like, ‘oh I want to go here insetead of these other schools,’ so yeah.”

Conner primarily played as a forward for the Thunderbirds, and she racked up some accolades during her time here.

This past season, she was tied first on the team for goals scored at five, as well as assisting three goals. This gave her the most amount of points on the team at 13. She earned the team’s Golden Boot award due to her having the most amount of points this season.

She was also selected to the All-Region IX team for her play as well.

Last season, she helped the Thunderbirds win their first ever Region IX championship after netting the game winning goal.

As she looks forward to the next step of her career, she is excited to be reunited with some old team mates.

She said, ”I have some team mates that are there right now, so that helped me in my decision because it is nice that I can go with people that I know and people that I’ve played with for a few years... I’m super excited to play with my old team mates, I think that’s going to be really fun.”

KWU, a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics affiliated school, plays in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. They are under head coach Henrick Sohn and had a record of 11-8-1 last season.
