CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Ranked rivals took center stage on the softball field, as top ranked East and number five Central locked horns in a crosstown doubleheader.

The first game was out of reach fairly quickly. Central was able to get a run across in the first inning, but East answered with five on the board in the second and never looked back. Jaylyn Christensen was dealing on the mound-- only allowing that one score in the opening frame-- and the Lady T-Birds punctuated their victory with another four in the final inning for an 11-1 final.

The second leg appeared to be more of the same, as East jumped out to a 5-1 lead. However, at the end of the contest the Lady Indian bats came alive when it mattered most. They exploded for seven runs over the final two frames, and Bailey Martinez was the hero for Central. Her third hit in the game was a walk off single to close the show and lift her team to a thrilling 8-7 win over their rival.
