CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Our attention is usually dominated by phone screens. Coming to Casper is a chance to redirect it towards literature, art, and community.

“Treat Yo’ Shelf Book Fair” brings together local authors, artists, and book supplies for a night unique to most. Attendees can expect a variety of literary and artistic offerings, including works from local authors, handmade crafts and jewelry, and book supplies such as bookmarks and accessories.

The book fair will take place this Saturday, April 8 from 12-6 p.m. at Old Town Family Fun. Hosted by the 307 Skate Park and Youth Center, the book fair is a celebration of literature, art, and community, featuring local authors, artists, and book supplies.

The event promises to be a great opportunity for book lovers and gamers to explore the world of literature, while also supporting a great cause.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the 307 Skate Park and Youth Center, a local non-profit organization that provides a safe and inclusive space for youth to express themselves through skateboarding, art, and other creative outlets.

“We’re excited to bring together local authors, artists, and book supplies for this event,” said Copper Mack, event organizer and executive director of the 307 Skate Park & Youth Center.

In addition, Skull Tree Brewery will be on-site, offering a selection of brews to enjoy, while Old Town Family Fun will be open for mini-golf, laser tag, and arcade games.

“It’s a great opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy some mini golf, cold brews, and the arcade, while also supporting our local authors, artists and creators,” Mack said.

Can’t make it Saturday? No problem.

“We are excited to announce that we will be doing an autumn edition of the “Treat yo’ Shelf Book Fair,” so even if you miss this one, there will be another right around the corner,” Mack said.

Entry is free, with donations to the 307 Skate Park and Youth Center being accepted on site. For more information about the event, please contact Mack at Treatyoshelfbookfair@gmail.com or visit their Facebook page.
