CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It takes a while to amass a collection of sports memorabilia, and CEO of visit Casper Tyler Daugherty has acquired a collection over the years, while working on events back in Iowa.

“Most of this stuff I don’t ask for. It’s just part of the gig and you know, and we have sponsors that participate, we just naturally get a few extra pieces, it’s part of the contract if we work with them. So really it’s just dumb luck that I got all of this stuff right, so it’s pretty neat.”

Daugherty worked in Dubuque Iowa, running events that used the actual field of dreams. Although he amassed all of these items, it didn’t start with him seeking out collectibles.

“No I haven’t, no. It’s just the nature of the business and my position that I’m in. Because of all of the events we did with the field and we contracted with these individuals. Again, they would sign a poster or a bat or a ball and we’d give those back to sponsors and you know we’d strategically ask for more because we wanted to keep some. Right? Some of us and our staff. So that’s how I naturally built this collection. "

After obtaining so many autographs from a whole slew of legends, his most recent collectible is his favorite in his entire collection.

“It’s the last piece. The most recent piece that I got. It’s a ken Griffey Jr. Signed autographed bat. So the cubs and the reds played out at the field and he and his dad threw out the first pitch in a pretty cool moment at the beginning of the game and had an opportunity to work with him ask for an autograph and he was nice enough to give it.”

Having dealt with a different side to these celebrities, it put them in a more human light to Daughtry.

“I just tried to make them feel as comfortable as they can because I know they always have to feel like they’re on or again someone always asking for something. But to you know rub elbows with him Mr. October Reggie Jackson and to see what he’s like you know taking him from the hotel to the event site and he can just relax and have a casual conversation that’s pretty neat.”

With all of the memorabilia he’s collected throughout the years, the one thing he’d like to add if given the chance is a Michael Jordan signed 1992 U.S. Olympic team jersey.
