CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Looking for something fun to do this Saturday? Head over to Catz N Coffee Connections for their grand opening celebration! On April 1st, from 10AM-6PM, enjoy some coffee and snacks while hanging out with the sweetest cats around town.
What is a Cat Cafe?
A Cat Café' originated in Taiwan in the 1990′s and eventually took off in Japan. They are all around the United States now. They are a place for cats to wait patiently for their purrfect person or persons. They are also a place for people to go hang out if they can’t have cats of their own.
It is recommended to make an appointment to visit but allow walk ins if space is available. There is a small admission fee that goes towards the care of the cats. It covers the lease and utilities, so the cats have a safe warm place to live while waiting to be adopted. The fee is used for the cat expenses including food, litter, treats, vet costs, warm beds to sleep in and anything they else they may need. We also offer coffee, teas, water and cold drinks along with prepackaged snacks.
Our Cat Café in Cheyenne works with different shelters and rescues in Wyoming. We are currently helping by taking cats from the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, St. Francis Animal Shelter in Buffalo and Laramie Peak Humane Society in Douglas, all in Wyoming. These are all no kill shelters. Cat Cafés take cats that need more attention, socialization, love and if they have been long term at the shelters. Cats can’t live at a shelter as it isn’t good for them. This is what a Cat Café is, and we are here to help cats find a home.
