CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Lady Wolverines soccer team put the state on notice last week, as they went out and beat two of the top five teams.

A lot of the success is thanks to Cami Paskett, who was a scoring machine. She said that the performances helped grow her confidence, but her teammates also deserve praise for the efforts.

”I can’t take all the credit myself. Because it also comes through my ten other teammates. In the Kelly Walsh game I had an assist from my keeper. But it also kind of helps me going in. It definitely was a confidence booster. Especially moving into 4A, and I think it’s just showing our whole team and everyone that really we can play,” Paskett said.

Any doubt about Riverton’s abilities in the highest class was quickly silenced last week. They beat number two Natrona 1-0 on Thursday thanks to Paskett’s free kick goal, and then the day after she scored a hat trick in their 3-2 win over fourth ranked Kelly Walsh. For those counting, she was responsible for all of the Lady Wolverines’ scoring during that span.

However, Paskett said that she’s far from the only one on the team with a nose for the net, and she feels like this team could make noise during the postseason.

”I think that we’re all capable of scoring and we work well together. We have lots of girls that are able to look up and find players on the field. I think overall we’ll be a threat to everyone. It’s going to be very exciting. I think that our hopes are to place at state. I’m excited to see what we do the rest of the season,” Paskett said.

Congratulations to Cami Paskett on her dominant performances.
