CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The high school soccer season is just over a week old, but the intriguing matchups have already started.

Both of East and Central’s soccer teams entered Thursday without a loss-- and as they say-- something had to give.

The Lady T-Birds and Lady Indians played the first half of their game on Wednesday before the latter half and entirety of the boys game was postponed to the following day due to weather. East was leading 1-0 thanks to a Brooklyn Paskett goal, and ultimately that would be the difference on Thursday. The final 40 minutes were a defensive battle, as both teams struggled to break through the opposing back line. The second half stalemate kept the Lady T-Birds undefeated at 3-0, while the Lady Indians fell to 2-1 in the young season.

The boys game featured a bit more scoring; Logan Custis broke the ice late in the first half on a strike that bounced in off the left goalpost to get Central on the board. However just before the break, East’s Brenden Bohlmann leveled the score with a perfectly placed free kick that found the top left corner of the net. The second half though was all Central. Justin Hendren converted a penalty and Zeman Collins tacked on another score, and the Indians shut out the T-Birds in the final 40 to take home a 3-1 victory. The win moved Central to 3-0 while dropping East to 2-1.
