CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - High school soccer is back in season, with the opening games occurring last weekend for the state.

Conference action got started today for both Casper teams, as they both faced off against each other. Kelly Walsh made the short bus ride cross town to Natrona for their first meeting of the season.

The #2 ranked Fillies led the #5 ranked Lady Trojans by one at the half, but the second half was a much different story. As soon as it opened up, the Fillies got to work and before you could blink it was 2-0. Saige Gustafson had a pair of goals that helped Natrona’s offense to pick up steam, and they kept rolling. They continued to show their offensive dominance and would eventually take down Kelly Walsh for their first in conference win 5-0.

The boys game was a similar game, but the roles were reversed. The ranked #2 Kelly Walsh boys team got it started within the first five minutes of play, and they never looked back. With a pair of assists as well a goal of his own, Parker O’Neil had quite the showing for this rivalry game. The Mustangs would prevent the shut out, but they wouldn’t come back into this one, as the Trojans split the series on the day with a 6-1 victory.
