CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Winter has returned for the Cowboy State and that will certainly be evident tonight. Tonight’s lows will be down in the teens and single digits for most places. With winds, some places could get very cold so be prepared for a very chilly night.

Tomorrow’s highs are getting better as we finally return to the 40s in some places around the state. While not everyone will feel the warmth on the way tomorrow, spring is definitely returning to the state. Especially looking ahead at the next few days.

Our temperature trend in Cheyenne shows the good news. Saturday will be a bit chilly but warmer temperatures will be coming back on Sunday and this time they’ll stick around as we stay in the 40s for the next week. Casper will also get warmer too as they’re following the same trend as Cheyenne. Most of the viewing area is part of the warming trend and will see much warmer temperatures on the way.

Wrapping things up with our extended forecast, warmer temperatures will arrive Sunday with plenty of Sun and they’ll both stick around into the new week ahead. A slight chance of rain on Wednesday that thankfully will not freeze into snow or ice will be helpful for us as well. Looking at Casper, they’ll follow the same trend as we do in the Cheyenne area although their precipitation comes late Tuesday and it may be snow due to the cold overnight lows. Not a lot of snow will fall but flurries could build up and cover the ground a bit. We’ll need to keep an eye on Tuesday and Wednesday to see how that chance evolves over the coming days. Other than that chance of precipitation, a warmer and sunny week ahead for both Cheyenne and Casper.
