CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Another Kelly Walsh football player signed his letter of intent to continue his football career at the collegiate level.
The Trojan’s Erich Hulshizer will be playing in the secondary for the University of Northwestern St.-Paul.
As soon as he got in contact with their coach, he knew that this place was where he wanted to play for the next four years.
He said, “I was looking for a Christian school, I kind of reached out, then the coaches reached out to me. And then I ended up going down there for a visit and the coaches there were amazing and they were people I could see myself being around for the next four years.”
Hulshizer has quite the track record with Kelly Walsh. He earned All-State selections twice for his play at safety for the Trojans in 2021 and 2022.
This past season, he ended the year with 67.5 tackles, 23 of those being solo tackles. On top of that he had 2 interceptions, 3 blocked punts, and one defensive touchdown.
Offensively, he led the Trojans in receiving yards, ending the year with 229 yards, averaging about 19 yards per reception.
Hulshizer looks forward to being able to continue competing, as he said, “I mean, competing. I love competition, I love playing, and being able to meet to just new people make new friends, make those bonds, and go win some games.”
Congratulations to Erich, and we look forward to seeing what he does at the collegiate level.
