Cold Thursday Ahead, Warm Weekend
Gusty Winds in Some Areas, Single Digit Wind Chills Likely
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - We have a cold Thursday ahead for us around the area with highs near or below freezing which is quite a drop from our mid 40s that we had in Cheyenne yesterday. The coldest temperatures are coming tonight with temperatures in the teens and even single digits for some around the area. Temperatures below zero will be making an appearance as well on the western edge of Wyoming. Those cold temperatures aren’t helped by gusty winds forecasted through the area with some areas including Cheyenne seeing wind gusts over 40 MPH at times and a steady wind around 20 MPH through the day. That will cool temperatures down with wind chills in the single digits possible through the day and tonight.

Thankfully, those frigid temperatures don’t stick around long. Warmer temperatures are on the way tomorrow with highs in the mid 40s and more good news, that will start a trend of warm temperatures that continues through the weekend and into the start of next week. We’ll even see temperatures in the 50s as a part of this trend. However, spring has not sprung just yet, across the area we had a couple flurries around the area this morning and we could see flurries later next week as well.

Thankfully our extended forecasts have good news for us. The weekend will be warm and sunny for Cheyenne and it will continue into Monday as well. Tuesday will stay warm but snow possible next Wednesday and it’ll cool down as well but just like this week, it’ll warm up just in time for the weekend.
Moving over to Casper for their extended forecast, it will be colder with temperatures in the 30s but a breezy day ahead tomorrow and a sunny weekend ahead with temperatures holding steady into the new week but just like in Cheyenne, we have a colder Tuesday and Wednesday with a chance of snow as well and again, just like Cheyenne it will start to warm up just in time for the weekend.
